Kīlauea residents and commuters should prepare for potential travel delays as Ala Namahana Parkway will be reduced to one lane from Monday next week to November 27 on weekdays, excluding weekends. The closures will occur from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, according to the Department of Public Works release in the County of Kauai website.
The lane reduction is due to electrical utility installation work carried out by Shioi Construction, Inc. Drivers are advised to expect delays, plan for extra travel time, and proceed carefully through the construction zone for everyone's safety.
