A 19-year-old woman from Kissimmee lost her life, and three others were injured following a traffic crash in Osceola County last night, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. The collision, which involved a Toyota Corolla and a Nissan Quest minivan, occurred near Old Hickory Tree Road and Nolte Road in St. Cloud just before 7 p.m.
WFTV detailed that the Toyota driver was heading southbound on Old Hickory Tree Road when he ran a stop sign at the intersection with Nolte Road. The vehicle entered the path of the Nissan van, which was traveling eastbound on Nolte Road at the time of the crash.
According to a crash report by ClickOrlando, the right side of the Corolla struck the front of the Quest, leading both vehicles to veer off the road. The driver of the Corolla, identified as a 19-year-old man from Gainesville, and the driver and passenger of the Quest were taken to Osceola Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The passenger of the Corolla was transported to Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, a grim outcome that underscores the fragility of life on the road. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash, and at this juncture, no further details regarding the cause or potential charges have been released.
