A one-story single-family home in Green Meadows was enveloped in heavy smoke this afternoon following a structure fire that was addressed by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
The incident occurred at 661 E 120th St, as detailed in an LAFD alert, with the LAFD being summoned to the scene around 12:06 PM after the Los Angeles Police Department, already on the ground for a separate operation, called for firefighters upon noticing the heavy smoke rising from the home's rear.
According to a follow-up alert from the LAFD, it took 36 firefighters a span of 19 minutes to knock down the fire. The team managed to extinguish the flames without any reported injuries or casualties, marking another efficient emergency response by the city's firefighting personnel. There were no further details released beyond the announcement of the knockdown.
