A small plane crash in Larimer County this morning has resulted in two fatalities and one person left with serious injuries. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office reported to the scene around 11:12 am after receiving a report of the crash at Storm Mountain. Several local agencies including Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, Thompson Valley EMS, and the Colorado Air National Guard assisted in the emergency response.

The accident involved a plane from the Thompson Valley Composite Squadron which was carrying out routine training for aerial photography. Despite the quick response from various emergency services, unfortunately, two of the three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Larimer County Sheriff's Office. The third passenger was promptly transported to a nearby hospital with severe, injuries.

Recovery efforts are expected to be challenging due to the rugged and remote nature of the terrain where the crash occurred. Larimer County Search and Rescue is set to continue recovery operations over the next several days. The investigation of the crash will be led by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office with support from the FAA and NTSB. Details regarding the identities of the deceased and the cause of death will be provided by the Larimer County Coroner's Office once available.

"Over the coming days and weeks, we will continue to investigate the crash to provide closure for the families involved," said Captain Bobby Moll, per Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. The agencies have expressed their gratitude to the partners who have aided in the response effort. Any further inquiries about the flight or its purpose should be directed to the Civil Air Patrol.
