Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren provided details about an officer-involved shooting on Tuesday. Officers, including Officer Alexander Bookman, responded to the 6900 block of Wine River Drive after receiving multiple reports of gunfire. The homeowner, 43-year-old Brandon Durham, called authorities, stating intruders had entered his home and he was hiding in the bathroom, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers found damage to the home and heard screams inside. Officer Bookman forced entry and discovered Durham and Alejandra Boudreaux, 31, struggling with a knife. Bookman fired his weapon, fatally striking Durham. Although medical aid was provided, Durham was pronounced dead at the scene. Boudreaux was detained.
Boudreaux faces several charges, including home invasion with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, child abuse, and reckless actions resulting in death. She has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
