Set against the backdrop of Butler Street and Penn Avenue, the event is scheduled for Dec. 14 and 15, between noon and 5 p.m., according to a report by WPXI. This yuletide crawl began nearly 25 years ago and was originally the brainchild of a lone shop owner.
On this occasion, Lawrenceville Corporation echoes the sentiment that no RSVPs are needed for attendees braving the winter chill to partake in what has become a celebratory ritual of sampling cookies and engaging in communal joy. As cited by WTAE, "offering up homemade cookies to all," the small businesses and shops are the nexus of this tradition, inviting locals and visitors alike into their establishments for the sweets and as pillars of a thriving, welcoming community.
To make things easy, two shuttle buses will run through the area, including one that is wheelchair accessible, so that everyone can join the cookie-filled fun.
