
The City of Lawrenceville recently highlighted a notable achievement from within its administrative ranks. Kyle Parker, the city's Information Technologies Director, has completed a prestigious program, making him stand out as a prominent figure in the public sector technology field. According to a statement from the City of Lawrenceville, Parker was recognized by the City Council for graduating from the Certified Government Chief Information Officers Program (CGCIO) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Government.
Kyle Parker is the only graduate from Georgia in the 2023-2024 CGCIO program, a prestigious course for U.S. local government IT leaders. The program, which has trained over 2,000 public sector tech leaders since 2005, requires 240 hours of instruction on topics like strategic technology planning and cybersecurity. With over ten years of experience, Parker’s career includes leadership roles at Keck & Wood, his own company, Parker Technology Solutions, and most recently, the City of Lawrenceville.
The CGCIO program helps public sector technology leaders improve their skills in managing modern government IT systems. It focuses on developing IT infrastructure that meets the needs of cities and towns. Parker, who holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from North Georgia College, has led transformative projects as IT Director for Lawrenceville.
