An estate sale is currently underway in metro Detroit, offering a range of clothing, accessories, art, and other items that once belonged to the late Florine Mark. Mark, who served as the president and CEO of Weight Watchers Group and was known for her philanthropic efforts, passed away at the age of 90 in October 2023, according to Deadline Detroit. The sale, which began yesterday, is taking place at her Farmington Hills home and is being organized by Le Shoppe Estate Sales.

The scope of items available is extensive, including serigraphs by Mexican painter Rufino Tamayo, a Victor Vasarely lithograph, and signed statues from George Segal – some originally displayed at the Weight Watchers corporate office, Deadline Detroit reported.

The estate sale has been described as a blend of iconic department stores, featuring a diverse selection ranging from high-end fashion to a complete array of housewares suitable for outfitting a restaurant. According to a FOX 2 interview with Deborah Slobin of Le Shoppe Estate Sales, “A very large store - Macy’s and Nordstroms combined for sure, absolutely.”

The estate sale has attracted a large number of buyers and onlookers, creating a busy and competitive atmosphere. Some attendees began lining up early on the first day, with a few arriving before dawn, hoping to purchase items from Mark's collection. The excitement was evident among attendees, with Valeria Johnson  telling FOX 2 Detroit, "Oh my goodness, it’s amazing and she was an amazing woman."

Reports suggest that the items for sale have attracted interest from vintage retailers and museums. According to the Detroit Free Press, some of the clothing will be included in a special exhibit at The Henry Ford museum in Dearborn. Known for rarely repeating outfits, Mark's colorful and diverse wardrobe, along with her luxurious accessories, offers a glimpse into a distinctive fashion era.
