Lewisville is making efforts to engage younger audiences with a touch of theater magic. The city’s Our Productions Theatre Co., in partnership with the Young Artist Training Program (YATP), hosted a free musical theater workshop for kids and teens this past weekend.
The workshop, designed for students in grades 4 through 10 (with a few exceptions), gave young participants a crash course in the essentials of theater, including singing, acting, and dancing. This exciting opportunity was made possible by the Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust, and, as noted in the City of Lewisville’s press release, required advance registration.
Our Productions Theatre Co. is part of a larger community effort to support the arts. They’re one of eight recipients of a city grant aimed at fostering cultural growth in Lewisville. The Grand, the city’s cultural venue, provides an ideal setting with its black box theater, recital hall, and art gallery, offering residents a full range of creative experiences.
