A homicide investigation is underway in Long Beach after an early morning shooting resulted in the death of one man and left another injured on Nov. 24. Responding to an unknown trouble call around 1:54 a.m., police found a male victim on the 2600 block of East Ocean Boulevard who had sustained gunshot wounds to his upper body, the injured individual received on-site medical attention before being transported to a local hospital by the Long Beach Fire Department personnel, his injuries described as non-life-threatening, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department.
The patrol officers also discovered a second male victim near a homeless encampment close to where the first victim was found, he too had suffered an upper-body gunshot wound. Despite efforts from officers and later LBFD personnel to provide life-saving measures, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Long Beach Police Department, the names of the victims have not been released, pending notification of their next of kin.
