In a typical night of law enforcement in Long Beach, officers confiscated two firearms in separate incidents. The Long Beach Police Department detailed the events on their blotter, which recounted the proactive measures taken to keep the community safe.
According to the LBPD's report, the first incident occurred late on November 26, when police were called to the 2300 block of Locust Avenue over reports of a man making threats. Upon arrival, they found an individual—described only as a male adult and a prohibited possessor—in possession of a loaded firearm, which turned out to be stolen. Officers ensured that the man was arrested without incident.
The second incident took place earlier that day around 2:46 p.m. Officers on patrol near 11th Street and Alamitos Avenue spotted another male subject who appeared to discard what they suspected to be a firearm over a wall. The LBPD confirms that after detaining the subject, a thorough search resulted in the recovery of the firearm and the individual's arrest.
