Residents can look forward to various ceremonies across the county, promising to kick-start the festive period with lights, carols, and community cheer.
Starting the festivities, the Village of New Haven will host its Parade of Lights and Tree Lighting on Nov. 30. According to a list compiled by Macomb County's official website, the parade is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., with the tree lighting following at 6 p.m. at New Haven Fountain Park. Post-lighting, attendees can indulge in the Kris Kringle Cookie Contest, a meet-and-greet with Santa at the New Haven Fire Hall, details provided by the county website reveal.
For those craving a sight of modernity fused with tradition, the Annual Bay-Rama Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Drone Show on Dec. 2 could be the attraction of choice. The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. downtown in New Baltimore, promising a dazzling performance in the sky.
Other key events include the Eastpointe Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 4 at the City Hall, and almost concurrently, Ray Township holds its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 7 p.m., where Santa is slated to arrive and light the tree before refreshments are offered. Kids will also have a chance to share their Christmas wishes with Santa. The ceremony at Ray Township also features visits with Santa after the lighting so families can enjoy more personal moments with the jolly figure.
Macomb County's Christmas spectacle continues with various tree-lighting ceremonies from Dec. 5 through Dec. 7. Events will be held in Romeo Village Park, the Chesterfield Township Municipal Office Complex, and Shelby Township municipal grounds. Each location promises a unique blend of holiday activities, including caroling, fireworks, warming fires, and opportunities to interact with Santa Claus.
Rounding off the celebrations, Macomb County invites locals to embrace the holiday atmosphere at the Downtown Utica Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at Memorial Park. Community members can gather to witness the town square transform into a winter wonderland, spotlighting the holiday season's communal joy.
