
Authorities have formally charged a man in connection with a fatal assault that took place earlier this week on the 6900 block of Hirsch Road. The suspect, 52-year-old Alvaro Lovos, now faces murder charges, as reported by the City of Houston. Lovos is currently sought by police and is not yet in custody.
The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Tuesday and resulted in the death of a 67-year-old man, whose name has yet to be publicly released pending family notification. It was around 11:15 p.m. when Houston Police Department officers responded to quickly try and find Lovos. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered the victim lying on the sidewalk with head and body trauma. The responding paramedics from the Houston Fire Department pronounced the individual deceased.
During the subsequent investigation, HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Brooks and Detectives C. Flora, G. Zavala, and M. Castillo identified Lovos as the primary suspect. Charges were then formally filed against him on Wednesday.
