Tragedy struck the community on East Lake Mead Boulevard as another act of violence claimed a life. According to a report by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), a man sustained fatal injuries from a stabbing incident that occurred last Tuesday morning. Emergency responders transported the victim to UMC Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The LVMPD launched an investigation, which quickly led to the identification of 33-year-old Jose Escamilla as the suspect involved in the fatal encounter. It was determined, that the victim and Escamilla were in a physical altercation, during which Escamilla used a knife to harm the victim before escaping on foot. The subsequent day saw the swift action of law enforcement as the Criminal Apprehension Team successfully located and apprehended Escamilla, leading to his booking into the Clark County Detention Center on an open murder charge.
This diligent task force, the Criminal Apprehension Team, entails a partnership among various agencies, including the FBI, LVMPD, and regional police departments, all contributing to the capture of individuals accused of serious crimes.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office has taken up the task of revealing the victim's identity along with the exact cause and manner of death once the investigation concludes. Meanwhile, the police urge those with any knowledge pertaining to the incident to come forward.
