A fatal incident rocked west Columbus yesterday afternoon when a man was killed following a shooting. As reported by WBNS, the incident occurred in the 1400 block of Demorest Road, with the Columbus Division of Police responding to a shooting report around 3:20 p.m. When officers arrived, they discovered a man who had suffered a gunshot wound. He was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition but was pronounced dead by 3:47 p.m., per police statement.
Police indicated the involvement of multiple individuals, who stated that the victim was seen meeting with at least two other men in a strip mall parking lot before the shooting. After the incident, the victim fled northbound in a maroon F-150, losing control on a bridge just south of Bonnie Court, as detailed by FOX28. The suspects were reportedly seen running into the nearby Post Oaks apartment complex.
Authorities are pursuing three suspects in connection with the case. Surveillance footage from the area is crucial to tracking the individuals involved, and residents of Post Oaks and the surrounding neighborhoods have been urged to check their cameras for any relevant footage.
