Man Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run on San Antonio's Northwest Side, SAPD Searches for Jeep Driver

A 22-year-old man was left grievously injured in the wake of a hit-and-run accident that took place in the early hours on San Antonio's far Northwest Side; San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) has issued a report detailing the circumstances of the collision which unfolded near Loop 1604 and Braun Road, as confirmed by KSAT.

Per reports, at approximately 2:20 a.m. today, the victim was crossing the road within the designated pedestrian zone when a Jeep struck him, the driver behind the wheel apparently chose to flee the scene rather than render aid, which has left local authorities currently in search of the individual responsible for this crime, according to officials and the preliminary investigation findings stated by the SAPD.

The SAPD's account relates that a witness, who was present at the time of the accident, saw the victim left unconscious on the street after the impact, as MSN also notes. Subsequent to the incident, the injured man was promptly taken to a local hospital where he was declared to be in stable condition.

SAPD has provided further updates on the search for the Jeep and its driver. Once located, the driver will face charges, including one count of causing a collision resulting in injury.
