A 64-year-old man was left seriously injured following a hit-and-run incident in Wimauma, Florida, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. The accident occurred on Tuesday evening shortly before 6:30 p.m. as the man was walking east along State Road 674 east of 4th Street. FOX 13 News informed that a black 2002-2008 Dodge Ram was driving eastbound when it overtook another vehicle, striking the pedestrian.
Subsequently, the victim was hit by a second vehicle, a Cadillac XTS. The driver of the XTS remained at the scene, while surveillance footage captured the Dodge Ram, along with its driver, fleeing the area. As per troopers' details, the man sustained serious injuries and had to be airlifted to a local hospital for medical attention. WTSP noted that the search for the hit-and-run driver is actively ongoing.
Investigators are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward, seeking assistance in identifying the driver responsible for the man’s injuries.
