A verbal dispute turned violent in Long Beach, where a man was reportedly stabbed on the evening of October 30, according to authorities. The Long Beach Police Department said the incident occurred around 5:43 p.m. in the 2200 block of Locust Avenue.
First responders, including Long Beach Fire Department personnel, arrived at the scene to find a male adult with a stab wound to his upper body described as non-life-threatening. He was swiftly transported to a local hospital for care, as noted in a recent blotter entry from the LBPD. A suspect, also a male adult, was found by the arriving officers still at the scene possibly due to either a hesitation to flee, or an ignorance of the gravity of his actions.
The suspect and victim reportedly engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated, leading to the assault. According to the LBPD's account of the incident, the suspect was arrested and taken to Long Beach City jail for booking. The circumstances that lead to the confrontation are still under investigation, with the police looking into what may have triggered the violent exchange.
