Atlanta police have arrested 28-year-old Jaquavious Crenshaw in connection with a series of car thefts at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport's rental center. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Crenshaw was caught by a patrolling officer on Monday. He is suspected of stealing a Kia Forte and a Kia Sorento the day before and attempting to steal an Audi A6, but was stopped by a security barrier.

In a body cam video, an officer showed Crenshaw a security photo from the previous day, asking, "Who's that dude here?" Crenshaw responded, "Uh, yeah, that's me." He was then charged with theft by taking (automobile), theft by taking (key fob), prowling, and entering an automobile. Crenshaw was arrested at the Fulton County Jail. He had been caught prowling at the rental center again, and had previously been arrested for auto thefts twice, including one incident at the same location in 2022, as stated by FOX 5 Atlanta.

Car thefts at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport have increased, with over 300 vehicles stolen this year. In response, the airport has added new security measures, including shorter time limits in parking decks, anti-tailgating equipment, more cameras, and extra staff. They are also considering using motorbikes for patrols. The Atlanta Police Department is asking anyone with information to call (404) 614-6544, as relayed in a report by Atlanta News First.
