A man was wounded by gunfire yesterday evening in Whitewater Township, an event that unfolded after what has been described as a physical confrontation. FOX19 reports that Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the 6300 block of Hamilton Cleves Pike Road, where they discovered that Michael Owens Jr. had been shot.
Further details emerged as the deputies began their on-site investigation. It was found that an altercation had occurred, although the circumstances that led up to the shooting are still being pieced together. According to Local12, Owens was subsequently taken to University Hospital Medical Center for treatment, yet his medical status remains undisclosed.
The incident scene, located adjacent to State Route 128, is said to have various businesses in proximity, creating potential for a host of witnesses. WLWT added that scanner traffic during the time of the investigation hinted the physical altercation before the shooting may have involved several juveniles.
