Authorities in Manhattan are searching for a man accused of assaulting an 84-year-old woman on the Upper East Side. The incident occurred midday last Saturday when the elderly woman was pushed to the ground on East 86th Street, according to police, as reported by PIX11.
Around 12:45 p.m., the assailant fled the scene, heading north on 3rd Avenue, according to authorities. EMS responded and provided treatment to the woman at the scene. Police have not yet identified a suspect in connection to the event, but investigation by officials continues, and there's a clarity lack as to whether or not someone present at the incident called 911 immediately afterwards.
Further details given by AM NY pinpoint the location of the attack in front of a beauty supply store at 188 E. 86 St, within the jurisdiction of the 19th Precinct. Surveillance video and photos of the suspect were released by police on Monday, exhibiting him in a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt wandering through a store.
