The City of Mentor has announced a Municipal Planning Commission meeting scheduled for December 5 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss several conditional use permits for local businesses. As per a public notice from the city, the meeting will be held at the Council Chambers within the Mentor Municipal Center, located at 8500 Civic Center Boulevard.

Among the items on the agenda, Power Yoga Collective NEO, LLC & Colonial Plaza A Partnership are seeking a permit to operate a commercial recreational facility at 7501 Mentor Avenue, Unit 1. In a similar vein, Goldfish Swim School and 8400 Mentor, LLC are proposing to open an additional commercial recreational facility. This venture is located at 7533 Center Street and 8400 Mentor Avenue. Each proposed establishment resides within the B-2 General Business District, offering leisure and fitness enthusiasts opportunities.

A proposed child day care center at 7435 & 7437 Mentor Avenue by Grace and Growth Learning Academy & 7441 Mentor, LLC is also up for consideration. This facility would bridge the General Business and M-1 Light Manufacturing Districts, blending educational and industrial spaces for the community. Additionally, Atrium Medical Group, Inc. & Lake County General Health District are requesting to establish a medical facility at 5966 Heisley Road in the M-1, Light Manufacturing District, aiming to serve the medical needs of the Mentor populace.

There's also a significant development of local infrastructure, and Mentor Public Library is planning an expansion at 8215 Mentor Avenue. This expansion is intended to enhance public services within the R-2, Single Family Residential District, further embedding the library as a cornerstone of the Mentor community. Details of this proposed expansion have yet to be disclosed, but it promises to be a substantial investment in local educational resources.

Residents of Mentor and interested parties are encouraged to attend the hearing to voice their opinions on these proposed developments. The public notice issued by Brian Cook, Chairman of the Mentor Municipal Planning Commission, can be accessed for full details through the City of Mentor's official website.
