The City of Mesquite has appointed Alberto Rivera as the new Manager of Economic Development, a move that promises to bring new vitality to the area's flourishing economic landscape. Rivera, who's been on the team since 2018, will take on responsibilities that include the development and implementation of programs intended to boost local businesses and attract investments.
With a background that spans various retail leadership positions across Utah, coupled with his time as the Economic Development Coordinator for the city, Rivera's portfolio is well-rounded. His experience encompasses aspects of sales, strategic partnerships, and project management. Kim Buttram, the Director of Economic Development, reaffirmed Rivera’s qualifications in a statement. "Alberto has been a key member of the Economic Development team since 2018," Buttram said, as per the City of Mesquite. "His leadership and knowledge of the community ensures he will seamlessly assume this new role.."
Rivera has an educational background that aligns with the demands of his new position. He holds a master's degree from Southern New Hampshire University and a bachelor's from Utah Tech University—formerly known as Dixie State University. Rivera brings not only his professional acumen but also bilingual capabilities to the table, fluent in both English and Spanish, a skill set that may prove beneficial given Mesquite's diverse population.
