According to the DA's announcement, a 37-year-old man died at the scene, while a 41-year-old man later died at Lawrence General Hospital. Two other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital. Massachusetts State Police and Methuen Fire Department responded to the incident shortly after 6 a.m.
The crash involved a driver named Katrina Nguyen, 26, who allegedly fled the scene. She later turned herself in and now faces several charges, including two counts of motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation and leaving the scene resulting in death. Nguyen is scheduled to be arraigned in Lawrence Superior Court for tomorrow, according to the Essex County District Attorney's Office. All individuals accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
