In an announcement that has left many Minneapolis residents feeling out of the loop, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) declared that its November 20 board meeting would not grace the internet live due to technical issues. The terse notice, released a day prior to the meeting, specified that the event would still be recorded. "The meeting is being recorded, and the recording will be uploaded to the MPRB’s You Tube channel as soon as possible," stated the notice obtained by minneapolisparks.org.
While the MPRB apologized for the inconvenience caused by this snag, the lack of live broadcasting left many stakeholders unable to watch the proceedings of the board meeting in real time, which could include pivotal discussions on park operations, funding, and policies.
The MPRB did not provide a specific timeframe for when the recording would be available.
Residents interested in the outcomes of the November 20th meeting are encouraged to keep an eye on the MPRB's YouTube channel, where the recorded session should eventually make its appearance, albeit later than any would prefer.
