An accident during snow removal training at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport just after midnight resulted in a vehicle tipping and spilling fuel, leading to a hazmat response. According to FOX6 News, the spilled fuel was quickly contained by airport personnel.
The mishap involved snow removal equipment that authorities say tipped over on its side. This incident was confirmed by Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport's communication team to have led to a fuel spillage which was addressed by the airport's hazardous materials crews, as reported by WISN. During the clean-up operation, two airport maintenance workers were sent to the hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries as a precautionary measure.
According to WKOW, reported on the scene noting the involvement of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, which is currently investigating the causes behind the crash and subsequent fuel spill. Both injured workers were reported to have sustained minor injuries.
