The collective force will focus on detecting and deterring alcohol-related offenses during a time when festivities often lead to an increase in drunk driving incidents. In a pre-emptive strike to safeguard the community, Chief Marc R. Yamada along with other key members of the Montgomery County Police Department, including Captain Warren Jensen and Sergeant Patrick Kepp, will be spearheading this operation. They are also set to collaborate closely with a representative from Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD). The multi-agency task force aims to proactively address the heightened risk during the holidays—when the impulse to irresponsibly celebrate often leads drivers to get behind the wheel while impaired.
The roll call for officers, which is a briefing before patrols commence, will occur tonight at 8 p.m. at the Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters, situated at 100 Edison Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD, in the first-floor conference room. The event provides a strategic meeting point for law enforcement before they actively hit the streets.
