A fatal collision between a motorcycle and a sedan on Monday afternoon has led to the arrest of David Richard Rolph, according to the SBSD Apple Valley Police Department. The incident, which occurred at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Iroquois Road in Apple Valley, resulted in the death of a 23-year-old male motorcyclist from Hesperia.
Law enforcement officials said that the crash happened at about 3:52 PM when Rolph, driving a black Hyundai Genesis, executed what was determined to be an "unsafe" left turn directly into the path of the motorcyclist traveling westbound in the roadway's number one lane, leading to the collision whereafter Rolph fled the scene in his vehicle. After abandoning his vehicle he fled on foot, emergency services attempted to perform life-saving measures but ultimately the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene, as detailed by the SBSD Apple Valley Police Department.
