
Following a shooting incident that occurred earlier this month, the Metropolitan Police Department has made an arrest. The event took place on the Unit block of 53rd Street, Southeast, on Thursday, November 7, at approximately 10:47 a.m., prompting a quick response from local law enforcement. According to the official police report, upon arrival, officers were informed by the victim that they had been shot by an unknown assailant who had subsequently fled the scene.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital by DC Fire and EMS and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The pursuit for the suspect continued until, on Thursday, November 21st, Sixth District officers, executing a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, located the suspect. The arrest took place in the 400 block of Valley Avenue, Southeast, which, led to the apprehension of 21-year-old DeAngelo Jones from Southeast, DC.
DeAngelo Jones has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). The charge stems from the aforementioned shooting.
