A multi-agency operation culminated in the arrest of an individual connected to a string of bank robberies across the Vancouver and Portland metropolitan areas. The Vancouver Police Department, alongside Clark County Sheriff's Office and Battle Ground Police Department, pinpointed and apprehended Bryan Russell Vaughan Duke, a 44-year-old suspect.
According to a statement from the Vancouver Police Department, Duke is facing charges for three specific robbery incidents. Law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at his Battle Ground residence, leading to his arrest. The charged robberies occurred on September 13 at Umpqua Bank on SE Mill Plain Blvd, on October 17 at another Umpqua Bank location on NE Fourth Plain Blvd, and on October 25 at a U.S. Bank on SE Mill Plain Blvd, all located within Vancouver.
Following the execution of the search warrant, Vaughan Duke now faces charges that include three counts of Robbery I. As he was booked into the Clark County Jail, officials indicated that additional charges may be forthcoming. The arrest is a development in what appears to have been an organized sequence of heists tormenting local financial institutions over the past few months.
