In Nashville, three teenage robbery suspects were arrested following a car chase by the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD). The suspects were caught driving a stolen Chevrolet Camaro on Linbar Drive. The vehicle had been reported stolen during a carjacking early Friday morning outside a convenience store on Old Hickory Boulevard.
According to WKRN, before the police tried to intercept the Camaro, the suspects entered an apartment complex on Linbar Drive, armed with firearms, and stole belongings from two men. The MNPD's Violent Crimes division used spike strips and a helicopter to track the suspects, who eventually abandoned the vehicle and tried to escape on foot before being caught.
The names of the suspects, identified by WSMV as 17-year-olds Marvin Cruz, David Hminghlu, and 16-year-old Davi Ortega, were revealed following their capture. Each of the juveniles is now facing charges in Juvenile Court for aggravated robbery.
Officers also recovered a handgun from the scene, which further substantiates the charges laid against the young individuals, according to FOX17.
