New Berlin authorities are on the lookout for at least two individuals involved in an armed carjacking that escalated into a high-speed police chase this past Friday. According to FOX6 News, the incident began when Milwaukee police alerted their New Berlin counterparts to the stolen vehicle engaged in the carjacking shortly before 4 p.m.
The pursuit unfolded near Sunny Slope Road and W. Fieldpointe Drive when the carjackers, upon spotting the law enforcement officers, elected to accelerate and flee the scene. A tactical intervention, as CBS 58 reports, was executed by the New Berlin police, including a tire deflation device and a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, which brought the chase to an end at Cardinal Crest Drive and Wilson Drive in the neighboring city of Brookfield.
Subsequent to the forced stop, the two suspects vacated the vehicle and fled on foot. As per the scene, a firearm was discovered and secured by the police. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel added that the case is currently being actively investigated by police, who have yet to make any arrests in connection to this incident.
