Construction work on McQueeney Road begins next week. Motorists and pedestrians should be prepared for changes. The City of New Braunfels announced that from December 2, a stretch of McQueeney Road from County Line Road to the IH-35 Frontage Road will be under rehabilitation. The project includes milling and overlay work, base repairs, and completing missing sections of the sidewalk.
During the construction, various sections of McQueeney Road will be reduced to one-way traffic intermittently to allow crew members to lay down the groundwork for these improvements. Expect some stop-and-go traffic if you're driving through the area, or plan for a slower stroll on the newly paved sidewalks.
Drivers and pedestrians should watch for detour signs and workers in reflective vests as construction progresses. Although orange cones may cause delays, smoother travel is expected once the project is completed in spring 2025.
