Amid the warm glow of civic duty and community engagement, the City of Federal Way witnessed the swearing-in of four new police officers last Tuesday City Council meeting. According to a report by the City of Federal Way, Mayor Jim Ferrell administered the Oath of Office to the fresh graduates from the Police Academy, now integrating into the Federal Way Police Department's Field Training Program.
In the testament to their commitment, FWPD Chief Andy Hwang heaped praise onto the officers, saying, as per the City of Federal Way, "These officers are quality individuals and people of integrity, and we are fortunate to have them as part of our team and serving our community." The new officers come with a diverse range of backgrounds and interests, from Officer Tristan Wood whose passion for music resonates through his guitar strings, to Officer Josie Palmer whose love for the outdoors is surpassed only by her commitment to her daughters.
Officer Joshua Toney stood out at the Basic Law Enforcement Academy, securing high ranks in academics and practical exercises. Meanwhile, Officer Paola Tovar brings her enthusiasm for outdoor activities into her new role, hoping to inspire a balance between enforcement and engagement in the community she serves. All officers wrapped their rigorous training on different dates, ready to contribute to the safety and well-being of Federal Way.
