
Last Friday morning, a car incident occurred at Tiny's Tasty Treats, a well-known ice cream shop in Newaygo, Michigan. According to the FOX 17 report, the Newaygo County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) disclosed that the accident happened just before 2:45 a.m.
The vehicle headed south on M-37, hit the bridge's divider, and, losing control, ran into the shop's northwest corner with significant impact. The unfortunate occurrence left the building with substantial damages and the driver was, hospitalized with minor injuries, as deputies shared.
NCSO confirmed that alcohol and drugs were not suspected factors in the crash, which currently is under investigation. This was echoed in a social media post from the Sheriff's Office. Undersheriff Chad Palmiter provided the update, stating the driver was taken to Spectrum Health in Fremont for their injuries, according to the Newaygo County Sheriff's Office's Facebook post.
In response to the crash, Tiny's Tasty Treats issued a heartfelt statement on Facebook, reflecting their concern for the driver and pointing out, "The building can be repaired, and will be repaired." They urged understanding from their community, noting the history between the building and the encroaching road, "Over the years, the road was brought to the building," they highlighted. The business, expressing gratitude amidst the chaos, thanked everyone for the support received in the aftermath of the accident, as WZZM 13 reported.
