An overnight fire wreaked havoc in Irwin, Westmoreland County. Flames engulfed a Main Street apartment building, which houses both residential units and businesses. According to WPXI, the building contained two apartments, a beauty salon, and a health and wellness office. Still active when crews arrived, the fire eventually gave way to thick smoke as firefighters worked to contain it.

Reporters on the scene saw the building collapse as flames consumed it. Fortunately, no one was injured. Firefighters battled the stubborn blaze, which lasted into the early morning. The cause is still unknown, but dispatchers reported the fire started around 2:20 a.m. on the 400 block of Main Street, as detailed by WTAE.

The local fire department quickly responded and asked people to avoid the area to keep everyone safe and give emergency crews clear access.
