This initiative, designed to curb impaired driving during heavy celebratory times, is made possible through a grant from the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) in partnership with the popular rideshare service Lyft.
The initiative starts on November 26, just as Ohio State gears up to face Michigan in Columbus. The hometown crowd often indulges in spirited revelry. According to a recent news release from the Ohio Transportation Safety Office, "OTSO wants drivers to plan for all celebrations with safety in mind. " While the festivities run high, OTSO emphasizes the importance of making responsible transportation choices.
To acquire the credit, residents of Ohio can redeem the offer by visiting the state's transportation website. The code for these credits will go live on November 25, according to the OTSO. "Drivers can claim a rideshare credit as an alternative to driving impaired by alcohol or drugs," as stated in the Ohio Transportation Safety Office (OTSO) news release.
There is, however, a catch. The credits are not infinite, and there will only be a limited number available each day. The codes are expected throughout the holiday weekend and will attainably stretch to cover the needs of those attending the game, but it is advisable to claim them early.
