A tragic incident unfolded in Mercer County, where one individual lost their life, and another was severely injured after a vehicle struck them. The event occurred around 6:30 p.m. yesterday on Franklin Road, near Coolspring Church Road, as reported by WPXI.
The victims, according to authorities, were attempting to clear a dead deer from the path when a car, driven by a 67-year-old woman, collided with them head-on. Daniel Johnson, a 27-year-old from Jackson Center, was declared deceased at the scene. The second victim, a 38-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for urgent care, as detailed by WTAE.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the circumstances that led to this heartbreaking incident. It remains unclear whether the driver, whose car was later towed from the accident site, will face any charges related to the crash.
