
A fatal crash on the US 183A Toll Road has claimed one life and left another person with serious injuries, Cedar Park Police Department reported early Tuesday morning. According to CBS Austin, the collision took place near the Brushy Creek/Park Street overpass and involved two vehicles. Following the incident, the police sent out an advisory at 8:49 a.m. Tuesday, indicating that some lanes were still affected even as they expected the roadway to fully reopen shortly afterward.
Additional details about the crash were provided by KXAN, noting the incident happened around 1:15 a.m. and claimed the life of the pickup truck driver, while the driver of the motorcycle was rushed to the hospital with significant injuries. As of 5 a.m., the Texas Department of Transportation had closed all northbound lanes on the 183A due to the crash, impacting early morning traffic flow substantially.

In a follow-up release, Cedar Park Police identified the vehicles involved as a pickup truck and a motorcycle. Despite sustaining significant injuries, the motorcycle driver is expected to survive, while the driver of the pickup truck unfortunately did not. The Highway Enforcement Unit has taken charge of the investigation into the crash, and details are anticipated to be sparse until the notification of the next of kin is completed.
