Tragedy struck yesterday evening in Kalamazoo when gunfire erupted inside a Chevrolet Trailblazer, leaving one man dead and another injured. According to a report from MLive, local authorities responded to a shooting on Egleston Avenue near Reed Court at approximately 10:25 p.m. There, police discovered a 34-year-old man dead and a 40-year-old man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, actively to investigate the incident, believes that the two victims previously gathered with the unidentified gunman at a different location earlier that evening. The parties eventually entered the SUV and traveled to the Egleston area, where the shooting occurred. The information, provided in a Facebook post by the Kalamazoo Public Safety, noted that the suspect shot the driver before firing at the other victim.
Currently, the investigation is following several leads, although the authorities have indicated there is no immediate threat to the public.
