A shooting incident in Homestead last night resulted in one person being transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds. The event occurred shortly before 7 p.m. at a business along the 800 block of Ann Street, as confirmed by Allegheny County 911.
Local authorities arrived to find the victim, a man who had sustained two gunshot wounds– one to the chest and another to his leg. He was immediately taken to an area hospital, where he is currently in stable condition, according to a report by WTAE. Police believe the shooting took place in the foyer of Knight's Hair Shop, right next door to the Homestead Slavs Club. It remains unclear what precisely led to the altercation that resulted in gunfire quickly.
The Allegheny County police launched an immediate investigation into the incident, and their detectives were reportedly requested to attend the scene. According to Allegheny County police, a man was detained at the scene and is being questioned.
