An Orlando-based nonprofit, Daily Bread Distribution Center, was recently hit by a brazen theft when a man was caught stealing bags of dog food directly from the facility on camera. The nonprofit, which dedicates its work to helping those in need, fell victim to theft while staff was busy distributing donations. ClickOrlando reported that the suspect made off with eight bags of dog food meant for the Orange County animal shelter.

"He sees we are working up front," Maggie St. Jean from the Daily Bread Distribution Center shared in a statement detailed by ClickOrlando. "He drives over here, gets off the van, hops on the trailer, and then loads eight bags of dog food. And he drives off." The center has reportedly been targeted before, as earlier this month, approximately 80 bicycles were stolen, prompting concerns about being repeatedly victimized.

This theft affects not only the nonprofit but also the animals dependent on the generosity of such donations. The Daily Bread used social media to leverage community support to identify the culprit. "I thought the best thing to do was to let the community help us," St. Jean told ClickOrlando, eliciting an active engagement in their mission for support and stewardship.
