In a disturbing case out of Osceola County, a mother is accused of fatally harming her 14-year-old daughter. Reports from WFTV indicate that Kelsey Glover was arrested after law enforcement responded to a 911 call from the family's residence. Glover is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery, which relate to the events leading up to the tragic death of her daughter.
Details released by the authorities reveal that before the fatal incident, Glover was involved in a heated argument with her roommate, Shantee Latrese Bryant, regarding the medical care for her daughter. Glover had decided to stop providing her daughter with prescribed insulin medication, an action that contributed to the girl's deteriorating health.
According to Bryant, she observed the child experiencing illness symptoms, such as vomiting and weakness, which led her to confront Glover. In the course of their disagreement, Glover reportedly held her daughter’s head underwater in the bathtub—a grave action that eventually made her unresponsive.
The confrontation escalated violently when Glover allegedly grabbed a hammer to threaten Bryant, prompting the latter to call for law enforcement hastily. According to Bryant, as reported by FOX 35 Orlando, this is when she attempted to intervene but was met with Glover's aggravated assault. The girl was later transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead, and the Osceola County Medical Examiner will determine an official cause of death.
Glover is scheduled to appear in court at 2:30 p.m. today. Authorities have noted that additional charges are pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
