Before the ribbon-cutting ceremonies can commence for their respective fire stations, Osceola County Fire Rescue & EMS is already rolling out new rescue units to serve the community. The incoming Stations 75 and 83 won't be complete until 2025, but that hasn't slowed down public service provision. Rescue 75 operates from Station 71 on West U.S. Highway 192 and Rescue 83 from Station 85 on Cypress Parkway.
Given the population surge on their west side, Osceola was proactive, recognizing an immediate demand for improved emergency response capabilities. "The mission of our department centers around improving the quality and capacity of services we provide to our community," stated Fire Chief Larry Collier in an announcement engaging Osceola County. He noted the early deployment of these units as a measure to boost the department's readiness and efficiency.
According to Osceola County's announcement, the ground was first broken for Station 75 just last month - October 2024—with sights set on a 2025 completion date.
