On the morning of November 29, Oxnard's streets witnessed the arrest of a prohibited possessor holding a firearm. According to a news release from the Oxnard Police Department, Enrique De Jesus Munoz, a 28-year-old resident from Port Hueneme, was confronted by officers around 8:38 a.m. This event transpired in an area grappling with issues stemming from illegal homeless encampments.
When the Homeless Liaison Officers arrived at the 100 block of West Hueneme Road to address complaints about trash and unlawful lodging, they found Munoz trespassing, as detailed by the Oxnard Police Department. The encounter took a serious turn when officers discovered that Munoz, who was carrying a loaded firearm in a sling bag, was no stranger to the rules and regulations of gun ownership. Despite prior arrests for felony firearms charges, Munoz once again faced the consequences of alleged illegal weapon possession.
