Ahead of the health-centric festivities, which will see participants ranging from international elites to local running enthusiasts, the city has released an essential guide laden with key details regarding the numerous events, spectators' information, and crucial road closures for a smoothly run event.
Athletes aiming for personal bests or checking off a marathon from their bucket list will have a range of events to choose from, including the Health and Fitness Expo, Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon, and Rothman Orthopaedics 8K. To ensure a smooth and safe experience, participants are advised to "arrive early" at the designated checkpoints with their race bibs ready, as noted by the city's official guidelines.
As runners traverse the historic and cultural landmarks dotting the racecourses, their supporters can convene at designated areas for optimal viewing. According to city updates, gates will open for fan entry at 8:00 a.m. on race days, with recommended viewing areas stationed north and south of Eakins Oval. After the race, participants can celebrate their hard work at the Post-Race Festival, which will feature refreshments, music, and activities from sponsors, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.
