The breakdown of these numbers comes with its notable points, including a significant proportion of last-minute voting; a combined 5,248 ballots were issued at the County Annex Voting Center on November 4, and 5. Initial results that poured in on election night accounted for 73% of the final tally, with the figure rising to 97% by the end of the week. Alongside the stats, Pierce County Auditor Linda Farmer, presiding over the certification, remarked on the process, "It is methodical and security conscious, and it does take time." More than 2% of the ballots, however, required extra hands for manual processing, an aspect that stretched the timeline for complete results.
Voters demonstrated a clear preference for ballot drop boxes over other methods of delivery, with an impressive 68% or 304,647 voters opting to drop their ballot in one of these boxes. The leading box locations included the Pierce County Annex accumulating a hefty 36,981 ballots and South Hill Library at 17,886.
