The Pierce County Sheriff's Department had a handful of incidents to report over the weekend of November 9 to 13. Among these was a fatal collision involving a pickup truck and several motorcycles on Orville Rd E, where one motorcyclist tragically lost his life, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department blog reported. The incident on November 9 occurred when one of the motorcycles failed to handle a curve properly and hit the truck, prompting a tragic chain of events. Two other motorcyclists were injured but are expected to recover without life-threatening injuries.

Later that day, a 49-year-old was arrested in an RV park for assaulting another guest and resisting arrest. The suspect, who was reportedly heavily intoxicated, allegedly punched the victim in the head and threatened to kill him. Deputies faced a brief struggle before taking him into custody, "Deputies ordered the suspect to exit his trailer, but he was uncooperative" as stated by the official blog.

The next day, on November 10, an alleged wire thief was apprehended by deputies in Spanaway after a 911 call tipped them off to the suspicious activity. According to the sheriff's blotter, the 49-year-old man posed as a utility worker to steal wire from light poles. He attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended after a short chase and struggle. On November 11, a commercial burglary was reported at a South Hill paint supply store, where surveillance video captured a suspect in a black Dodge pickup truck breaking into the premises. "The suspect tried to pry open the door but failed, so he ended up smashing the glass to gain entry." After stealing items, the individual promptly fled the scene.

The weekend's events concluded with a DUI arrest that escalated into a pursuit. On November 11, deputies responded to a welfare check at a gas station, which led to a pursuit ending with the use of a PIT maneuver and a Taser deployment to subdue the suspect after he attempted to escape on spiked tires, as per the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. Once revived from suspected fentanyl ingestion, the 39-year-old was arrested on multiple counts including eluding and DUI.
