Pierce County is launching its 2025 Art Grant program on December 2, offering local nonprofits outside Tacoma city limits a chance to boost arts access. The grant aims to address cultural gaps by expanding art opportunities and education for youth and underserved communities in unincorporated areas of the county, as per Pierce County's official announcement.
The eligibility criteria are marked: applicants must cater to lower-income youth or underserved folks, with programs scheduled between January 1 and December 31, 2025; however, applications will only be accepted until 2 p.m. on January 21, 2025, so there's no time to lose for those eager to grab a share of the financial rewards, which range from $500 to $5,000 per award. A virtual workshop will be held on December 10 at 3 p.m. to help simplify the application process.
According to the announcement on Pierce County’s website, since 1986, the county's Arts Commission has been the patron behind the cultural enrichment of the region, doling out nearly $27,000 to seven projects in 2023 alone, touching the lives of more than 9,100 youths and clocking in at 17,000 hours worth of artistic engagement and learning.
Interested individuals should visit the Art Grant program's website for application details and to register for the upcoming workshop.
