
In downtown Pittsburgh last night, police were called to a reported stabbing on the 700 block of Liberty Avenue, according to an official report. The incident is said to have occurred just before midnight.
The victim, an adult male, was found suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen. In critical condition, he received immediate aid from officers at the scene before being transported by EMS to a local hospital for surgery, the City of Pittsburgh Public Safety Blotter detailed.
It was reported that the victim was involved in an altercation that led to the stabbing, although details about the cause of the altercation or the individuals involved have not been disclosed as of yet. The Mobile Crime Unit was brought in to process the scene for evidence in the investigation, which the Violent Crime Unit detectives are now handling.
Detectives are still investigating the events, and no suspects have been identified.
